Penolakan Keterlibatan Pasukan Bela Diri Jepang Pada Pertahanan Kolektif : Analisis Semiotik Serial Kamen Rider Gaim

2014 have being a turnpoint in Japan article nine debate over the years. After 67 years took a historic step away from its post-war pacifism by ending a ban that has kept the Japan Self Defence Force from fighting abroad since 1945. Article 9 stated that Japan will never maintained any land, sea, and air forces, as well as other war potential. Ever since Shinzo Abe being elected as Prime Minister of Japan in 2006 the revision of article nine has been one of his primary goal to revise the 1947 Constitution. But despite the majority win of Liberal Democratic Party in upper and lower house, Shinzo Abe policy to lift the ban of the Self Defence Force involvement in war outside of Japan have been criticized and rejected by Japanese people itself. This rejection is also being shown in Japanese popular culture, one of them is television series Kamen Rider Gaim which being broadcasted from October 2013 untill September 2014. The conflict between the Armor Rider and the Overlords have being used as symbol the generation born before the Worl War II and the generation born after the World War II Era. From the analysis of three main character Sakuraba Kouta, Kumon Kaito, and The Overlords I will analyze how the interaction between the character is symbolize how the Japanese people think about the issue of Self Defence Force.
